Buddha Dhatu Jadi

The Buddha Dhatu Jadi is situated close to Balaghata town of Bandarban City in Bangladesh. It is the biggest Theravada Buddhist temple of Bangladesh. Dhatu means the material stay behinds of a holy person and in this temple the historical objects belong to Buddha. This temple has the second-largest Buddha statue in Bangladesh. The local name is Bandarban Golden Temple locally.

The Bandaban Golden Temple is in the right places to the Theravada Buddhism order. It is gifted by the Marma native people and a leading ethnic group of Bandarban. It was built in two thousand in Arakanese architecture. It is an approval of South East Asia style.

Buddhists has a large tribal population in Bandarban. Buddhism is expert by a small 0.7% in Bangladesh, although it is a Muslim country. Buddhism is the third religion in Bangladesh. Most of Buddhists are come from the south eastern district of Chittagong Hill Tracts and Chittagong.

Buddha Dhatu Jadi temple was built on the hill top. It is decorated with beautiful sculptural images. Separately from the second-largest statue of the Buddha that is preserved in the sanctum. There are smaller statues and a golden bell put on a dragon within the temple areas. The structure of the temple was started in 1995 and finished in 2000. The Dhatu, the corporal remains of Buddha, has been protectd here below four statuettes of Buddha.

The Dhatu is preserved here with the basic faith among Buddhists. These provide for harmony of mind and happiness. The temple is now appearances a part of the Tourism Development Project of the Buddhist Circuit Tour. That is supported by the South Asia Sub regional Economic Cooperation.

This Buddhist temple is known as Kyang in local language. It is located in the isolated Bandarban Hill District. It is a part of the Chittagong Division. The temple is entrenched in the hill town of Bandarban, the Tajingdong and the Keokeradong is situated beside Buddha Dhatu Jadi temple.
