Banglabandha Bengali(বাংলাবান্ধা) is a main inland port in northern Bangladesh. It has established to afford a trade link with Nepal, Bhutan and India. The three nations are separated by fifty kilometers of Indian region. It is known as the Siliguri Corridor. Phulbari stands by the Indian side of the border. In January of 2011 border crossing of vehicles was launched.

The Banglabandha port was officially launched in May of 2004. But it has not been completely functional owing to the lack of a transit agreement. A joint statement issued by the Prime Minister of India Dr. Manmohan Singh and the Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed in 2010. They agreed with that both countries would assist to provide Nepalese and Bhutanese consignment access to the Bangladeshi ports.

Through Banglabandha immigration check post has risen and many people have made their journey through the point. The immigration service through this land port has launched on February 18 in 2016.

Bangladeshi tourists can travel to several places of India. They can access easily to Darjeeling, Siliguri, Asam, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Kolkata through the Banglabandha immigration check post.  Beside Bangladeshi the Indian tourists also can visit many parts of the country consisting Cox’s Bazar, Rangamati, Kuakata, Bandarban and Sylhet districts.

The distance from Banglabandha land port to Darjeeling is fifty eighty kilometers. The Kakarbhitta in Nepal is sixty one kilometers away. The Phuntsholing in Bhutan is sixty eight kilometers away from the land port.

Beside the land port this place has become popular for the tea garden. People of North region make picnic or holiday at this place in winter season every year. The distance of Banglabandha from Dhaka city is four hundred and sixty one kilometers. It will take about ten hours. Travelers can also travel by air to Sayedpur National Airport. After that they have to rent vehicle to reach Banglabanda. Who loves to travel by train they can travel by train from Dhaka to Dinajpur District. After that they have to get on another train to Panchaghar District.
