The Chittagong Commonwealth War Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Graves Commission graveyard in Chittagong city of Bangladesh. It was established after World War II during 1939 to 1945. This cemetery was built to show the respect for the soldiers and other people who died in World War II. It was created by the British Army. There were originally about four hundred burials. These graves have since been transferred to this graveyard from the Lushai Hills from Chittagong Civil Cemetery.

At present there are seven hundred and thirty one Commonwealth burials of the World War II. There are a more twenty foreign national burials at Commonwealth War Cemetery. Including these there are one being a seaman of the Dutch Navy and nineteen Japanese soldiers, one of which is unidentified. There are also four non-war U.K. military burials.

The Commonwealth War Cemetery area is situated at the base of a slope directly behind Finlay’s Guest Houses. It is bounded by a large area planted with a mixture of jungle trees, fruit trees and flowering trees. Chittagong Commonwealth War Cemetery is open between 08:00am to 12:00pm and 02:00pm to 05:00pm every day. Wheelchair is accessible possible via main entrance.

A blacktop lane leads from the entry gate to the funeral area. It is entered through a metal gate bordered by two small brick chapels. It is located near the Arts College and close by Finlay’s Guest Houses near Chatteshanry Road. This place is well known road foremost to the Hindu Kali Bari Temple. There is no C.W.G.C. road way sign.

Commonwealth War Cemetery Chittagong is in Dampara area on 19 Badsha Mia Road. It is about twenty two kilometers away from north of the airport. It is about eight kilometers far from the port on a site. When a visitor comes to visit Chittagong city he should visit this historical graveyard.
